Two Latino Artists, One Resilient CommunityThis October, join us for LATIN ART SHOW—a warm celebration of Latin American Heritage Month and of the community that helped us reach 15 years in business. Presented side by side, the works of Melina Cossio and Marcelo Leonardo Pazán honour heritage, craftsmanship, and the vibrant cultural life of Mississauga. A 15-Year Journey (and the grit behind it) We began with one rented storefront window and built from there. Along the way, we weathered floods, vermin, and a pandemic, yet never stopped serving people who value professional, bespoke creative services. Today, Pazan Gallery stands as one of the last custom framing studios in our area, a Mississauga News Readers’ Choice Diamond Winner (2023 & 2024), and a cultural space where exhibitions, pop-ups, and live performances continue to animate Port Credit. The Artists Melina Cossio Distinguished Latin American artist whose narrative-driven oil paintings explore themes of resilience, memory, and identity. Through bold colour, textured surfaces, and layered glazing techniques, she invites viewers into intimate visual stories that bridge personal experience with collective memory. Her cityscapes reflect the perspective of a foreigner navigating a distant land, capturing fleeting moments that resonate with emotional familiarity. Rooted in her Latin heritage, Melina seeks meaning in the everyday, transforming unfamiliar environments into spaces of connection and reflection. Marcelo Leonardo Pazán An Ecuadorian-Canadian visual artist showing photography, traditional life-drawing, and acrylic paintings. Marcelo has created art since the age of four and has been framing professionally since 1997. He considers custom picture framing an art form—central to how artwork is protected, presented, and experienced—and views Pazan Gallery as part of his artistic legacy. Together, Cossio and Pazán offer distinct voices in conversation—two lenses on culture, craft, and community—while we mark a milestone for a small, artist-run space that refused to quit.
